Welcome to the Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association Martial Arts Program — a place where officers come together to build skill, confidence, and camaraderie through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Our program began in the matrooms of the C.O. Bick College, where members first gathered to train and improve their grappling abilities to better support them in the field. While the college has evolved over the years, our mission has stayed the same:
Our Mission
To strengthen members’ grappling and control skills, enhancing safety, confidence, and effectiveness during real world policing situations.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides officers with practical tools for:
• Safe and effective subject control
• Improved physical fitness
• Increased stress management
• Enhanced decision making under pressure
• Building teamwork and trust among colleagues
